Our Mission

Better Bucks seeks to improve life for those in need in the Sierra Vista Community. In pursuit of our goal we have partnered with many social service providers and merchants in Sierra Vista.  This partnership is best represented by Sierra Vista Community Connect which has been sponsored by Better Bucks for 11 months. Sierra Vista Community Connect brings social service providers and community organizations together in a central location once a month to assist those in need. Better Bucks provides funding for, and partners with Unity Housing Network to host and coordinate Sierra Vista Community Connect. The recent move of Sierra Vista Community Connect to the Salvation Army building has roughly doubled attendance. 

Better Bucks of Sierra Vista (BBSV) operates three programs: Better Bucks, Better Work, and Better Meals. Better Bucks has been operational for three years, Better Work for 18 months, and Better Meals for ten months. All three programs are overseen by a Board of Directors of ten members. All three programs operate within the City of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Better Bucks current focus is on improving our programs and planning for their long-term funding and operation. Seeing a need in the Sierra Vista area, we found a successful Better Bucks program established by the Shadows Foundation in Flagstaff, AZ, and formed our organization to provide sensible solutions by learning from the Shadows Foundation.  Community Leaders have come together from various walks of life to make Better Bucks of Sierra Vista a reality to help folks in need.  Better Bucks of Sierra Vista is a member of the Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce!
